ABOUT THE OWNER

My name is Brian Cole I am the owner of Greenleaf Services LLC. I have been an outdoorsman for as long as I can remember. It was this love for nature and the outdoors that has led me to take Forestry and Horticulture classes in high school. I continued my education in plant sciences at the University of Connecticut. I worked summers jobs with a local tree company through my college years. I graduated with a BS in Environmental Horticulture in 1984. Shortly after college, I became a certified Arborist (licensing the care of trees over 5 meters in height at maturity). To round out my education and licensing received an Ornamentals and Turf license (the care of turf, small trees and shrubs). From 1985 to1990 I ran a tree care service with a partner. Most of my time was spent as a tree climber and plant health care technician. In 1990 I went out on my own and started Greenleaf Services LLC. In 2008 I took classes with the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) to educate myself about organic land care. I became a NOFA accredited Land Care professional. My extensive and continued education has helped me tremendously. This combined with my years working in the field and my “hands on” approach has given me an understanding of Horticulture an Arboriculture that few others have.
